Python: Chi-Squared, Student's t, and F Distributions
Wrapped up derivations of the chi-squared, t-, and F-distributions — and honestly it's just reminded me how shaky my stats fundamentals still are lol.
Alright, all done! heh heh heh

Derivation of the Chi-Squared Distribution [ Statistics Basics I Studied #5 ]
OK so now it’s the chi-squared distribution’s turn. The chi-squared distribution is one of the gamma distributions with parameters (α, λ). It…

Derivation of the t-Distribution (Student t-Distribution) [ Statistics Basics I Studied #6 ]
First off, the reason this thing is called the student t-distribution is that W.S. Gosset, who worked at a certain brewery…

Derivation of the F-Distribution [ Statistics Basics I Studied #7 ]
And this time it’s the F distribution — the last of the bunch. The reason we hit the F distribution right after the t-distribution is that the statistic T follows the distribution…

But — even going through it all again, I keep getting this feeling that I’m just really, really weak at stats…..
Maybe I should go back to square one and dig into probability theory properly…
For probability theory, people recommend Sheldon Ross.
For mathematical statistics, they say Hogg —
are there any other bible-tier books out there?????? Anyone?

For now I’ve tossed them in the shopping cart, but….
In October my weekday evenings are booked with a machine learning course after work, and weekends I’m in a pandas course……lol lol lol lol
And then there’s like right now — Saturday, parked in a café grinding through the accounting principles course…… (which I still haven’t finished… seriously…. (T_T))
In between all that I’m doing some coding for fun lol lol lol lol lol, I really wanna try some FDM in Python… heh.heh
