Introduction to Microeconomics

I lost faith in traditional economics after reading The Origin of Wealth, but I'm studying micro anyway — someone has to know the old framework before they can fix it.

Winter break, 2015. The whole field of micro/macro economics completely lost my trust.

(Yeah. The Origin of Wealth did this to me.)

I wanted to just ignore it and pick up some other course instead — but, well, it’s required for my double major. And honestly? It IS true that up until now, a huge chunk of economics problems have been solved using the ideas of traditional economics. So I do agree it needs to be improved, but —

who’s gonna do the improving?

And when somebody does improve it, who’s gonna be able to tell whether they actually did it right or just made stuff up???!

Wouldn’t that have to be someone who knows the old framework — y’know, traditional economics — cold?!??!?!

So. Even though I don’t believe in it,

I’m someone who, right now, needs the big-picture view of economics as a whole. So —

I’m buckling down and studying this thing!!!!!!

Let’s gooo!!!!!!
